Elaborate Settings
Film musicals are known for there lavish and detailed scenery compared to those used in typical theater. Such intricate sets are impractical on a stage. In this way, the adaptation of stage shows to film allows the audience to experience the original play in an entirely different way that is much more realistic and tangible way.
For example, this scene would be difficult to manage in theater but is beautifully portrayed on film.
